Concrete & Flatwork
New pours and full replacements for driveways, patios, slabs and walkways across Tucson. Placed on a solid base and finished to handle our heat, monsoon runoff and caliche ground.
Why the base matters
Most concrete that fails in Tucson was not poured wrong, it was prepped wrong. Our ground is full of caliche, it swells and shifts, and a slab set on a thin or loose base will crack no matter how good the finish looks. We start underground, compacting the base and setting the grade, so the concrete on top has something solid to rest on.
Our concrete process
Good concrete is mostly what happens before the truck shows up. Here is how we prep, pour and finish so your driveway or patio lasts in Tucson.
We dig out and compact the subgrade, then set a proper base so the slab is supported evenly. On Tucson caliche that step is what keeps a driveway from settling and cracking down the road.
Concrete poured in full Sonoran sun can flash cure and weaken if it is rushed. We time the pour and keep the surface curing so it gains strength slowly and finishes hard.
Every slab is graded to shed monsoon downpours. We slope the surface to move water off the concrete and away from your foundation instead of letting it pool and undercut the edges.
Want more than gray flatwork? Stamped and decorative concrete adds stone, brick or tile texture and warm desert color to patios, entries and walkways at a down to earth price.
